Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $201,956 to $282,907. Description:

Position Summary
Under the administrative direction of the CMO, the Medical Director along with clinic responsibilities including independently perform physical examinations for a broad range of clients to diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and other disorders. He/she is responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures for clients.

This Medical Director will be working in Mile Square Health Center's Urgent Care clinic.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction, coordination, and clinical supervision of medical and behavioral health services, programs, and personnel. Serve as medical consultant to nurse practitioners and behavioral health providers when applicable. Perform chart reviews as clinically indicated. Review and approve clinical schedules with Program Director to ensure adequate clinical coverage.
  • Provide direct patient care in one's specialty.
  • Serves as a member of leadership to directly report to Senior Management with the clinical team and works collaboratively to ensure all clinical operations are integrated and functioning well.
  • Assist with developing and monitoring the organization's strategic plan including clinical programs and implementation.
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to ensure the delivery of excellent clinical services that meet and strives to exceed quality metrics based upon Illinois and National benchmarks. UDS and HEDIS measures are the guides for such measures.
  • Utilize specialized knowledge to guide and support the clinical team in providing comprehensive care.
  • Administrative/Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Monitor standards of care, policies, and procedures and ensure alignment with evidence-based medicine and University policies and protocols.
  • Participate in the set-up and evaluation of new programs and initiatives. Assist in establishing long-range goals and strategic plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the Office of Community Development to develop and coordinate community engagement activities and build sustainable partnerships that address the healthcare needs of the community.
  • Monitor the quality of care provided by health professionals assigned to their clinic.
  • Participate in the recruitment, evaluation and retention of provider staff.
  • Supervise, train, and coach providers to achieve their established goals.
  • Maintain continuous and uninterrupted board certification per their specialty.
  • Maintain an active Illinois medical license, controlled substance, and DEA license.
  • Perform other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Abide by the standards of culture and safety.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Graduation from a nationally accredited MD, APRN or PA training program.
    • Current license as an MD, APRN-CNP or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) in the State of Illinois required.
    • Current Valid American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
    • Current Controlled Substance licensure and Federal DEA.
    • Immediate Care experience.
