Facilities Inspection Specialist-JLL What this job involves - Will play a pivotal role in transforming Government Client maintenance operations into strategic, efficient, and effective functions. This role involves implementing strategic improvements in building and equipment maintenance operations, ensuring high compliance with Government Client maintenance protocols, and enhancing facility condition scores while reducing equipment downtime. You will not perform actual maintenance or repair work themselves. This role is to assess, plan, guide, and facilitate effective maintenance operations across their assigned facilities. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Quarterly facility condition assessments must be conducted to evaluate infrastructure performance and identify maintenance needs across all assigned properties within the geographic area.
- Government Client maintenance policies and standards require strict compliance oversight, with all operational and compliance issues promptly reported to Facilities HQ for resolution and tracking.
- Maintenance standards communication to local plant leadership ensures consistent implementation of protocols while developing comprehensive short-term and long-term maintenance action plans that address immediate needs and strategic facility improvements.
- Collaboration with Postal Service Maintenance and Facilities personnel is essential for coordinating resources and expertise, incorporating site-specific tasks, challenges, and stakeholders into all maintenance planning efforts.
- Plant Managers receive guidance on accessing cross-organizational resources and technical support, with facilitated collaboration between internal subject matter experts to resolve complex technical issues effectively.
- Monthly meetings with local plant leadership provide regular touchpoints for addressing maintenance challenges, reviewing progress, and ensuring alignment with operational objectives.
- Ongoing communication protocols support continuous maintenance challenge resolution while generating detailed monthly reports on technical guidance activities and maintenance issues for management review and strategic planning purposes.
Required Qualifications:
- The position requires 60% to 70% travel to Government Client sites with strict adherence to General Services Administration policies during all facility visits and assessments.
- An engineering degree with 10 years of maintenance experience is essential, plus 5-10 years of hands-on building and equipment maintenance experience in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Technical skills include diagnosing complex issues, identifying deficiencies, recommending solutions, and learning new systems while working remotely with frequent travel for audits.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and security systems is required along with understanding of equipment maintenance processes and operational requirements.
- The role demands ability to learn building systems quickly, identify performance gaps, and assess maintenance status across diverse facility types and configurations.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential for engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels throughout various assessment and audit activities.
- Strategic management across organizations is crucial, requiring adaptability to changing requirements while maintaining alignment with Government Client goals and managing complex multi-site portfolios effectively.
