Location: Alabonson Rd, Houston, TX 77088 Employment Type: Full-Time/ Temp-to-Hire Department: Supply Chain / Operations Position Summary: The Buyer / Planner I is responsible for executing purchase and work orders to support material requirements planning (MRP) within the manufacturing process. This role collaborates closely with Supply Chain, Production, Sales, and Inventory teams to ensure efficient material flow and timely communication across internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: * Source and negotiate with external suppliers to secure optimal pricing and delivery for raw materials, MRO items, and facility maintenance needs. * Execute and maintain purchase orders based on ERP-driven demand. * Create and release work orders aligned with sales forecasts and shop floor capacity. * Maintain item master data including min/max levels, vendor details, and standard costs. * Communicate urgent material needs and potential shortages to relevant teams and executive leadership. * Support inventory accuracy and integrity through proactive planning and coordination. * Collaborate with logistics to optimize inbound shipment routing for cost and time efficiency. * Update shared documents and team platforms (e.g., spreadsheets, Microsoft Teams) with relevant planning and procurement data. * Perform other duties as assigned to support overall business success. Required Skills & Qualifications: * Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (preferably Syteline). * Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material planning. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally. * Bachelor's degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business, or related field). * Experience in procurement, project management, and forecasting is highly desirable. Experience Level: Intermediate - 2+ years in a manufacturing or supply chain environment preferred. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
