Job Details:

Purpose

The School of Nursing Business Services Office is seeking a part-time, temporary Human Resource Assistant II to assist with HR data entry and recordkeeping. This position has a scheduled end date of 3/31/2026. Continuation of this position will be dependent upon renewal of funding, department needs, and job performance.

Responsibilities

All responsibilities will be performed under the supervision of the full-time Human Resource Coordinator.

  • Review incoming HR questions and requests from faculty, staff, and student employees

  • Respond to incoming requests in a professional and timely manner via email, phone, and in-person

  • Track and enter HR transaction data into Excel spreadsheets, Workday, and other internal UT Austin systems

  • Process background check requests and routine Workday transactions

  • Assist Human Resource Coordinator with recordkeeping, filing, and document retention

  • Protect confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information at all times

  • Other tasks as assigned in support of Human Resources functions for the School of Nursing

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED and 3 years of experience with human resources functions or high-level administrative support; or Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience with human resources functions or high-level administrative support

  • Intermediate computer skills; experience with MS Office Suite, email, internet, and word processing programs and software

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to stay organized and to track multiple ongoing projects

  • Agility with changing work tasks; able to re-focus as needed when priorities change

  • Understand and follow directions, and ask questions when something is not clear

  • Willingness and ability to learn new processes, programs, and software as needed

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Human Resources functions such as new hire onboarding, employee data management, and recordkeeping

  • Experience providing administrative support in a university or academic environment

Salary Range

$21,000/annual

Working Conditions
  • Typical office environment

  • Repetitive use of keyboard at workstation

  • Occasional lifting and moving of files up to 20 pounds

  • Onsite/In-office work is required

  • Hours to be arranged with supervisor during standard business hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00a-5:00p

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
