As a Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineering at Baxter, you will apply your analytical methodology to swiftly pinpoint risks and opportunities for innovation. Demonstrating agility and readiness for action, you maintain composure in high-pressure situations.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead the mechanical development of complex infusion hardware, focusing on pumping mechanisms, fluid path layouts, and safety-critical features.
  • Ensure robust performance under varying real-world conditions.
  • Guide the integration of sensing and feedback systems to support closed-loop control and error detection.
  • Apply advanced engineering tools and practices to deliver high-reliability, manufacturable solutions.
  • Ensure all creations align with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Hire, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.
  • Foster a culture of technical rigor, innovation, and user-centered invention.
  • Promote cross-site collaboration and knowledge sharing across global engineering teams.
What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of mechanical invention experience in complex hardware development, preferably in medical devices or regulated industries.
  • 5+ years of direct people leadership experience with engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of medical-grade materials, fluid interfaces, sensor integration, and development for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience with technical ownership and product delivery in fast-paced development environments.
  • Exposure to Agile hardware development, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), and lean engineering preferred.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $144,000-$198,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
