Regulatory and Filings Analyst
This position entails creating product specific premium determination rating and rule manuals that will be employed in our reinsurance and direct distribution channels, covering new product implementations, enhancements, and the expansion of partner companies into new states. For HSB's direct distribution products, this position provides regulatory consult, filing strategy and expertise to ensure seamless deployment of HSB's direct products into the market to support business initiatives. Develops and provides required comprehensive and state and federal compliant rate/rule filing to be filed with the respective state Departments of Insurance. For direct and reinsured products, responsible for responding to state Department of Insurance objections received around rates and rules, and if necessary consults with product management, pricing and actuarial, underwriting and/or legal to resolve such objections to ensure approval. In addition this role is responsible for leading in specific direct and reinsured product expertise implementing regulatory requirements into underwriting rate development standards and creating surveillance of state regional regulatory bulletins and trends with an overall focus on state and federal compliance with insurance regulations. This role is responsible for the development of highly customized product pricing manuals for our top tier, most sophisticated partner insurance companies for our reinsured products. As a key member of top tier customer Client Integration Teams (CIT), consults with partner carrier counterparts to provide HSB's coverage in the most efficient way and to ensure Department of Insurance rate/rule filing compliance while meeting operational implications of our partner carriers.
