With over 12,000 graduates leading fulfilling lives, MHS is expanding to serve even more students.

MHS is seeking a strategic, mission-driven, and visionary leader to serve as Vice President of Finance & Shared Services. This executive role reports directly to the President and is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, shared services, and strategic resource planning functions across MHS and its affiliated entities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Lead long-term financial planning and budgeting aligned with MHS's mission and growth strategy.

  • Provide executive oversight of financial reporting, audits, cash management, and compliance with US GAAP and tax regulations.

  • Serve as co-fiduciary with The Hershey Trust Company, ensuring stewardship of the MHST.

Shared Services Oversight

  • Drive operational excellence across Milton Hershey School (MHS) and Catherine Hershey Schools (CHS) through effective shared services governance.

  • Lead service level agreement development, conflict resolution, and performance evaluation.

  • Facilitate cross-entity collaboration and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

Enterprise Systems & Compliance

  • Oversee the fully integrated HRIS and financial systems, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and data integrity.

  • Ensure internal controls and auditable records are maintained across all financial systems and processes.

Procurement & Cost Containment

  • Lead the Procurement Department to optimize vendor negotiations and cost savings.

  • Collaborate with school leaders to ensure strategic purchasing aligned with policy and budget.

Committee & Board Engagement

  • Active member of key committees including Mission & Strategy Team, Compensation & Benefits, ERISA, Policy, Capital Review, and Real Estate.

  • Serve as liaison to the Board of Managers for ARC.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in complex, multi-entity organizations

  • CPA certification preferred

  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic financial vision

  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, influence, and collaborate across senior leadership and board levels

  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities

  • High integrity and commitment to serving as a role model for students

  • Passion for engaging with youth and supporting the MHS mission
