The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of daily activities within our warehouse facility supporting NCA including their customer airline and contracted ground handling staff. This role is supervising freight operations while ensuring customer satisfaction and implementation of approved processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills and a background in warehouse operations. The Operations Supervisor will interact with all levels of leadership across department internally and externally.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the performance of the freight service function as provided by both NCA employees and contracted services. This responsibility may include the following: supervision of flight handling (loading/unloading aircraft), weight and balance, dangerous goods, and special cargo), accurate documentation, knowledge of governmental agency regulatory requirements, coordination with other NCA branches, and departments on all cargo matters.

  • Facilitate daily activities by identifying problems and recommending solutions to maintain proper compliance with NCA standards and goals.

  • Conduct and monitor on-the job training and development. Attend job specific training as required.

  • Other administrative tasks may include budget assistance, payment processing, personnel activities, and staff scheduling.

  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager / supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in company and carrier Safety and Security procedures.

  • Conduct work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.

  • Comprehensive understanding of AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.

  • Attend training courses as may be required by AGI.

Physical Requirements:

  • Support staff must be able to occasionally lift / carry / push / pull and move items 10 pounds (or more.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good Communication Skills -Must be able to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or email and phone.

  • Customer Service Skills - Support staff are the primary point of contact for of the airline service providers and customers.

  • Computer skills: Required to use computer systems to create reports, planning, workforce, work summary etc.

  • Time management skills: Support staff must be able to manage their time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a demanding environment.

Qualifications:

  • 2- 5 years' experience in freight, logistics or warehouse operations

  • 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management
