What to Expect
As a Rigging Technician at Tesla, you will play a key role in safely and efficiently in the removal and new installation of tools and equipment for new construction and facility upgrades at the Fremont Factory. This hands-on role involves rigging, equipment setting, material handling, and anchoring, often requiring close coordination with other trades. You'll work in active construction zones indoors and outdoors with a strong focus on safety, physical readiness, and adaptability.
What You'll Do
- Perform all aspects of rigging support, including load rigging, signal-person duties, critical lift setup, and coordinating mobile equipment
- Collaborate with Foremen and Superintendents on equipment setting, anchoring, relocation, and dismantling tasks
- Assist with loading and offloading heavy tools using forklifts, lifts, hoists, and rigging gear such as chains, slings, and shackles
- Read and interpret rigging plans, layout drawings, and manufacturer guidelines to ensure safe and accurate installations
- Conduct daily safety inspections, complete pre-task risk assessments (PTPs), and work safely at heights using fall protection systems
- Support general construction tasks including material handling, anchoring, line work, and job site cleanup
- Communicate effectively across teams, maintain clean work areas, provide feedback, and actively participate in safety briefings
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of construction experience with a strong background in rigging, tool installation, equipment setting, or industrial construction
- Skilled in using rigging hardware, reading load charts, signaling for hoists, and performing basic lift planning
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment in active job site environments
- Comfortable working at heights up to 80 ft., in confined spaces, and performing physically demanding tasks including lifting 50+ lbs.
- Knowledgeable in job site safety practices including hazard assessments, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and fall protection systems
- Able to read construction drawings and rigging plans with an understanding of structural alignment principles
- Strong communicator and team player with flexibility to work rotating shifts, extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed

Expected Compensation
$32.00 - $48.27/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
