The Global ULD Planner role involves developing, coordinating, and communicating asset plans through load plans and controls, as well as providing technical training to field personnel. Essential Functions
- Developing, producing, coordinating, and communicating linehaul system asset plans through load plans and controls by established timelines
- Providing technical training to field personnel through workshops, seminars, and individual training in the areas of ULD operations, management information systems, contingency planning, and asset balancing
- Researching management information systems to aid in the control and development of asset balancing, system load plans, and corporate goals
- Providing comparisons on asset prototypes considering operational and system requirements
- Researching asset management to ensure requirements are met based on package volume forecast, operating parameters, system limitations, and timeline plans
- Participating in coordination with regulatory and engineering groups to ensure compliance with IATA/ATA/FAA rules and obtaining approvals where required
- Researching system form operational needs to develop linehaul system load plans that provide system improvements
- Participating in coordination with vendors and evaluating prioritization of repair and production schedules based on long-term analysis
- Planning, coordinating, and communicating the movement of ULDs to ensure asset availability in the global linehaul system
- Monitoring and advising on the appropriate ULD usage to ensure system reliability and high service levels
- Developing long-range schedules and facility expansion requirements to plan for capital budget requests
- Providing detailed asset purchase requirements to ensure no disruption of the linehaul system
- Assisting with the management and monitoring of a multi-million-dollar ULD repair budget, reconciling documentation, and providing monthly expense recaps and quality control
- Monitoring asset requirements and establishing monthly plans for ULDs to field and sort locations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education Bachelor's degree. Minimum Experience Two (2) years of related experience in scheduling, planning, analysis, or package movement in trucking and/or flight operations. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of FedEx features of service and operating systems. Analytical, PC and MS Office, and communication skills. Job Conditions Some travel required.
