What you'll do

The Senior Marketing Director builds public perception, encourages engagement, and achieves government objectives.

In this role, you will lead our day-to-day marketing and branding team to achieve next level positioning and growth for our government business. This critical, high impact role will focus on expanding our current marketing efforts through strategic campaigns to enhance public image, raise issue awareness, and drive engagement. Your deep understanding of government processes and regulations, and the specific needs of the target audience will assist in developing and growing our business.


The day-to-day

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve organizational goals within the government context
  • Campaign Oversight: Managing the development and implementation of coordinated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, such as digital, social media, and events
  • Public Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with government representatives, collaborators, and the public to improve the organization's reputation and credibility.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-impact marketing materials, such as blogs, whitepapers, and presentations, that effectively communicate the message and value proposition.
  • Branding: Develop and boost our brand equity while distinguishing our government sector from our competitors
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, provide guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the allocation and expenditure of marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource utilization.
  • Performance Measurement: Track and analyze marketing campaign performance, using data-driven insights to optimize future strategies and tactics.

What you'll need

  • Proven experience in marketing principles, strategies, data analytics, marketing tools and methodologies
  • Experience in both traditional and digital marketing channels
  • Demonstrated experience in brand positioning, rebranding, and understanding how to produce innovative, impactful brand campaigns
  • Proven familiarity with government processes, regulations, and the unique challenges and opportunities of marketing within the public sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of marketing professionals
  • Verified analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
  • Demonstrated proficiency in building and encouraging positive connections with government officials, collaborators, and internal teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field with advanced degrees or certifications considered a plus.
  • US Government position. US Citizenship required
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasible
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally

Salary range

$181,000.00 - $285,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $224,500.00- $336,500.00/ annually

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
