General Information Country: USA State: Michigan City: Grand Rapids Office Location: 901 44th Street SE - - - - - Date posted: 25-Sep-2025 Business Function: Other Position Type: Full-Time/Regular Description Steelcase is hiring a Corporate Security Field Officer in Kentwood, MI to join the Steelcase Corporate Security Team and support Steelcase on a local and global scale. The Corporate Security Field officer will be responsible for monitoring all security systems, responding to incidents, and ensuring a safe environment for employees. Team members will have the opportunity to contribute to higher-level projects and contribute to the success of the team and ensure the safety of 12,000 employees. What to know about this role: We are hiring for second shift: 3pm - 11pm Rotation: 7 days on, 2 days off during the week. 8 days on, 4 days off during the weekend. Schedule includes weekends and holidays. On-site full-time What You Will Be Doing: Responds to emergency incidents including security, fire, medical, and hazardous material spills. Responsible for monitoring activities of the Security Operation Center including critical Life-Safety systems and processes on a local and global scale. Performs all duties involved with trailer shipment coordination and visitor management functions. Collaborate with team members and internal departments for initiating and completing improvement-based projects. Provides professional and welcoming security presence while promoting Steelcase brand. Who You Are: You are a self-driven security professional with a passion for safeguarding property, people, and brand. You value strong written and verbal communication skills, thorough investigations, and relationship development to provide a trusted sense of security to those around you. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Demonstrates strong customer service skills with a focus on empathy, responsiveness, and effective problem-solving to ensure high levels of client satisfaction. Must be comfortable working on a computer while utilizing multiple programs and applications. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Must complete and maintain certification in CPR, AED, & First Aid through the American Red Cross Ability to lift greater than 25 lbs. Position requires extensive walking and standing Must be able to work outlined rotating schedule Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime Preferred Qualifications Minimum of three years security experience Experience in investigative techniques and report writing CPR, First-Aid, AED certification through the American Red Cross Experience working with security systems Who We Are: Steelcase is a global design and thought leader in the world of work.
