Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Dedicated to serving those who defend the US and warfighters, Nisga'a MOSTT offers Military Operations support and Specialized Tactical Training (MOSTT). Nisga'a MOSTT's services include aviation and military training, cybersecurity, intelligence gathering and analysis, and simulation and exercise support, as well as aviation flight logistics support and unmanned aerial vehicle support. Summary: The Clinical Simulation Director will lead the design, operation, and maintenance of advanced medical simulation technologies in support of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) Special Operations Center for Medical Integration & Development (SOCMID). This role is responsible for managing simulation-based training environments, including high-fidelity human patient simulators, virtual reality platforms, and audio-visual systems. The Director will develop and implement simulation scenarios aligned with Joint Trauma System (JTS) guidelines and training objectives, ensuring realism and effectiveness in trauma and casualty care education. The position requires strong technical expertise, instructional design experience, and the ability to operate in high-tempo, field-representative environments.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Operating part-task trainers, manikin-based simulators, surgical simulators, computerized simulators, virtual reality, and emerging technologies.
- Provide support in setting up simulation supplies/equipment in support of training scenarios targeted to meet identified learning objectives.
- Operate, maintain, and debrief simulation-related audio-video recording systems.
- Create troubleshooting documents, simulator checklists, and simulation lesson plans/scenarios for simulation equipment.
- Must be able to lift >75 pounds and move human patient simulation equipment to and from training areas, work in low-light, high-volume environments, and differing weather conditions simulating actual field, casualty evacuation, or aeromedical evacuation missions.
- May perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of military trauma clinical skills, procedures, and processes to include: Joint Trauma Systems (JTS) Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG)
- Proficient in operating and programming high-fidelity simulators, part-task trainers, and virtual reality systems
- Skilled in setting up and troubleshooting simulation equipment and supplies
- Ability to create simulation lesson plans, checklists, and troubleshooting guides
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years' experience with programming of high-fidelity human patient simulators (e.g., prolonged casualty care and trauma lanes)
- Prior experience in course development and education methodology
- National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS-I) certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor (ACLS-I) certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor (PALS-I) certification
- Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) through National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) or Defense Health Agency, Joint Trauma System (DHA-JTS). If not current, personnel are required to complete TCCC within six weeks of onboarding
- Must have a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator or Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist. TCCC through NAEMT or DHA - JTS.
