PRIVATE DINING COORDINATOR

The Detroit Foundation Hotel has transformed the historic Detroit Fire Department Headquarters into a 100 room independent hotel that adds another piece to the ongoing Detroit renaissance puzzle. The hotel draws on the Motor- City's unparalleled past while proactively moving the city to its next incarnation as a national cultural, business and artistic touch- point. Featuring an inviting ground- floor restaurant, The Apparatus Room, the hotel partners with local distillers, brewers, farmer s and other edible sundry purveyors to deliver and authentic Detroit experience.

You are an energetic, motivated self-starter with strong communication skills. You love problem solving and partnering with team members on how to fix the root causes of issues. You continually find ways to partner with your peers to identify how to improve the team you are in.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Anticipate and deliver exceptional service consistently
- Receive and respond to incoming telephone calls in accordance to hotel and restaurant standards and assists with overflow calls
- Detail reservations as well as groups and events booked by the Restaurant
- Perform administrative skills such as typing, filing, copying, faxing, opening and sorting mail, coordinating appointments and answer telephones according for hotel standards Prepare written correspondence including letters, contracts, reports, schedule of events and e-mails using MS, Outlook and Sales system
- Maintain the various restaurant file systems, both electronic and paper, including account files, program evaluation, databases, master binders for BEOs and resumes
- Periodically assist with front of the house operations including greeting and directing guests and working with the restaurant on quick sets or tear downs
- Private Dining and Large party bookings and coordination
- Restaurant and happy hour bookings and coordination
- Upsell beverage packages for the above
- Open Table management to maximize covers
- Keep all menus current on all sites
- Post and update menus on web sites, reservation platforms and search engines
- Coordinate all administrative work associated with Chef's table
- Create and maintain CRM strategy to identify frequent restaurant guests
- All other responsibilities assigned by management
- Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climate
- Partake in a positive work ethic and surrounding environment
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess excellent knowledge of the hotel and all departments internally
- Must possess ability to coordinate with multiple tasks
- Computer literacy to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Open Table etc.
- Excellent communications skills both written/verbal
- Highly organized and has the ability to plan multiple activities and meet deadlines with the ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; phone skills, customer service oriented, proactive and a team player
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language\
- Must have a high school education or equivalent experience
- Preferred 4 year college degree preferably with an emphasis in Hospitality
- Computer literacy to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Preferred administrative experience

- Attend all required meetings
- Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures
- Properly handle and report associate and guest accidents
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
- Assist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by management
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
