Job Description
Elwyn seeks a Compensation Operations Analyst to support the administration of Elwyn's compensation policies and practices. This role assists in the collection, analysis, and reporting of compensation data to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The analyst works closely with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), the Compensation Director, and the Quality teams to maintain compensation systems, administer job codes, and develop and maintain job descriptions, pay structures, market pricing, and compensation surveys. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Job Architecture
- Maintain and update job architecture including job families, levels and career paths for consistent leveling
- Audit existing job titles, descriptions and codes for consistency with the job architecture framework
- Conduct job evaluations to determine appropriate level placement based on role scope and responsibilities
- Develops and maintains job descriptions and job architecture in collaboration with HR Business Partners, Leadership, and the Compensation Director.
- Creates and maintains job codes in the HRIS system and ensures alignment with organizational structures.
- Document compensation and job architecture processes and provide user support to HRBPs and Leadership
- Partners with HRBPs and the Quality team to execute mass job description changes and ensure consistency across functions.
Compensation Administration
- Analyzes, and supports the administration of compensation programs, including base pay, long and short-term incentives, spot bonuses, and other programs that align with company objectives for recruiting, retention, and employee engagement.
- Maintains and communicates pay structures, grades, and guidelines.
- Advises managers on making effective pay decisions that support employee engagement and comply with compensation policy and budgetary guidelines.
- Participates in compensation surveys, conducts research and analysis on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends.
- Maintains salary grades and Compensation Analyst (e.g., Salary.com) for accurate job evaluation and benchmarking.
- Supports administration of Elwyn's salary structures, geographic differentials, and promotional increases.
- Conducts market analysis and internal equity reviews to support compensation decisions.
- Prepares compensation reports, metrics, and ad hoc analyses for HRBPs and leadership.
- Assists with annual salary planning, including merit increases, adjustments, and other pay programs.
- Maintains compensation data in HR systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity of employee pay records.
- Prepares data for participation in compensation surveys and assists in survey submissions.
- Provides support in compensation communication materials, including employee notifications and manager guides.
- Supports compensation-related projects such as system implementations, data audits, and compliance reviews.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of Compensation or HR Operations experience; healthcare or nonprofit experience preferred.
- Ability to write job descriptions and maintain job architectures
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts).
- Experience with HR systems and reporting; knowledge of UKG or other HRIS a plus.
- Familiarity with Compensation Analyst (Salary.com) or other compensation management tools, with ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Experience with compensation principles, job evaluation, and market pricing.
- Strong documentation habits and ability to standardize language
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of data accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear reports and summaries.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
