Acara Solution is looking for a Power Systems Engineer for our client located in McLeansville, NC. This is a contract or contract-to-direct position (they frequently convert the contractors). The hourly pay rate is up to $73 / hour.
- As an electrical engineer for Undersea Systems, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing Undersea Communication Systems.
- Solid use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
- Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis).
- Circuit board test and troubleshooting expertise.
- Isolated Switching Converters.
- Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in multiple power topology design from few watts to KW+ converters.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in working in a lab environment building circuit cards, assemblies, and modules.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Worst Case Circuit Analysis and FMEA for both design and diagnosis applications.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technology trends with Research & Development (R&D), as well as advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- Agile experience.
- High Voltage DC Power systems / Module design.
- High voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics and HVDC technology.
- Deep understanding of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design.
- Circuit Design expertise.
- Fiber optic experience with transmitters, receivers, optical passives and fiber handling.
- Good troubleshooting ability be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects.
- Team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
