Who we are looking for: As the Loan Operations Manager for the Commercial Lending Group, you will manage a team of loan servicing specialists to ensure smooth loan portfolio operations within the Energy, C&I and CRE lines of business that support the Managing Director of Loan Administration. Your responsibilities include interpreting loan documents, interacting with stakeholders, and overseeing deadlines. You will use your deep understanding of loan servicing and lending services to make impactful decisions affecting operations and financial management. Advanced conflict management skills will be crucial for resolving issues, while strategic planning abilities will guide the direction of loan servicing operations. Your role is pivotal in fostering continuous improvement, driving performance, and nurturing future leaders within the team. The Loan Operations Manager is responsible for supervising all aspects of loan operations, developing employees, providing training and answering questions related to loan documentation and collateral perfection, and loan servicing functions to ensure excellent loan portfolio operations. A Loan Operations Manager is responsible for managing and performing key activities related to booking loans, interpreting loan documents, loan accounting, and loan servicing. The candidate must be a team player, detail oriented, and provide exceptional customer service. What you'll do:
- Work closely with the leadership team to align with business goals and objectives.
- Lead a team of loan servicing specialists, supervising and managing the loan administration team for Urban Lending, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and driving performance.
- Oversee loan closing, related documentation and collateral perfection activities.
- Oversee the interpretation of loan documents, ensuring accurate and timely servicing of our loan portfolio.
- Recruit and train new loan administration personnel.
- Collaborate with relationship managers, portfolio managers and commercial lending assistants (when applicable).
- Identify process gaps and areas for process improvement, create new procedures and processes within the department to gain efficiencies, and assist in implementing solutions.
- Perform daily reconciliations, review reports, and ensure loan servicing accuracy.
- Oversight/management of all aspects of loan servicing, including construction draws, revolving lines of credit, advances, payments, research, maintenance, and payoffs.
- Monitor borrowing bases, interest rates, and payment changes.
- Oversee insurance, property tax, UCC, and entity database monitoring.
- Manage loan document exceptions in the tracking system.
- Perform special projects within the department and across the bank.
- Perform quality control of original loan documents and maintain loan files.
- Order and manage various loan-related searches, including UCC, OFAC, good standing, flood, EDR, SBA CAIVRS, SAMS.GOV, and real property title abstracts.
What you'll need to be successful: Success in this job relies on your time management skills, organization, and positive attitude. In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:
- Associates or 4 Year College Degree
- 10+ years' experience in Loan Administration/Loan Operations
- Experience in a Management role within Loan Administration/Loan Operations
- Proven track record of leading diverse teams in a financial services environment, with a focus on driving performance and fostering continuous improvement
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Superior oral and written communication skills, ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Strong organizational skills that enable efficient functioning in high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environments
- A strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work quickly and accurately under constant deadlines
- Ability to independently identify resolutions to documentation and/or deadline issues
- Strong attention to detail and possess strong problem-solving skills
- Strong computer and technology-related skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Preferred Computer/Software experience in nCino/Sales Force, Finastra
