Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant I to join our Finance team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the department's operational and analytical functions, regulatory reporting, and financial accuracy. This is a fast-paced, interactive position with CCFBank, a successful financial institution with locations throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota.

As a Financial Accountant I, you'll perform a wide range of duties to support the financial reporting and analysis functions of the bank. You will work directly with the VP Controller and Finance leadership, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file the quarterly Call Report.
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
  • Assist with earnings press releases and SEC Form 10-Q/10-K filings.
  • Calculate monthly tax expenses and quarterly deferred taxes.
  • Manage lease accounting, including quarterly footnote preparation.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting and related disclosures.
  • Assist with audit requests and examinations.
  • Serve as a system administrator for key finance software.
  • Identify process improvements through automation and AI tools.
  • Provide backup for team members as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting and banking regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and applicable laws, including BSA responsibilities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in the financial services industry.

Desired Qualifications

  • CPA certification or working toward CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting, tax, and financial statement preparation is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with finance systems and data analysis tools.
