  • $71K - $99K annually
  • Potential 90-day performance-based raise

Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Workers' Compensation:Manage the full lifecycle of workers' compensation claims, from initial reporting to claim closure. You will serve as the primary liaison between injured employees, medical providers, and our insurance carrier, ensuring prompt and compassionate care. You will also develop and manage effective return-to-work programs and analyze data to identify trends and implement preventative measures to reduce workplace injuries.
  • Recruiting and Onboarding:Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for production and administrative roles. This includes partnering with hiring managers to define needs, crafting engaging job descriptions, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and ensuring a positive new-hire experience. You will also play a key role in developing creative recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the produce industry.
  • Employee Relations:Serve as a trusted advisor and first point of contact for employees and managers on a variety of HR-related topics. You will conduct thorough and objective employee relations investigations, resolve conflicts, and guide disciplinary actions in compliance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Safety Program Support:Champion a safety-first culture by supporting and collaborating with our safety and operations teams. You will participate in safety committee meetings, help facilitate safety training, and ensure HR policies and procedures support a safe working environment.
  • Benefits Communication:Proactively communicate and educate employees on all aspects of their benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. You will act as a key resource for employee questions, ensuring they understand the full value of their total compensation.
  • Employee Engagement:Design and implement initiatives that enhance morale, foster a positive work environment, and boost employee satisfaction. You will collaborate with managers to act on feedback from employee surveys, recognize top performers, and build connection across teams.
Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • Proven Experience:A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, ideally within a manufacturing, distribution, or produce-related environment.
  • Expert Knowledge:A solid understanding of employee relations, recruitment best practices, and federal and state employment laws, particularly concerning Workers' Compensation and safety.
  • Professional Certification:PHR or SHRM-CP certification is strongly preferred.
  • Strong Communication:An approachable and professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic Mindset:The ability to think both tactically and strategically, identifying trends and developing solutions to complex challenges.
  • Passion for People:A genuine interest in building a positive and inclusive company culture where every employee feels valued.
