SUMMARY:

The Molding Process Technician Supervisor requires an advanced level of understanding in injection molding machines, molds, auxiliary equipment as well as the process of making these items work in unison. This role also supervises the daily activities, output, training and development of the Molding Process Technicians. You will provide support to the Molding Operation while working towards continuous improvement in department efficiencies, including cost containment and reduction. The role must work inter-departmentally to fix on going issues with molds and machines. Assist in implementing new technology to boost productivity within operations. Position could occasionally set and pull molds in production machines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Managing and scheduling of personnel; Coaching and Developing of personnel., work schedules, reviews, counseling, training, meetings, safety, etc.

Collect and analyze data of production: data entry, graphs, use of spreadsheets and graphic software.

Process Control documentation, monitoring and implementation activities

Assist with daily operation of Grandview Molding Operations, which includes troubleshooting, scrap reduction and continuous productivity improvements. Provide support for mold and material qualifications as requested and required.

Develop, analyze and report out on improvement projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Familiar with specific computer software such as: Excel, Word, Projects, MiniTab and AutoCad

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Directly supervises 10-15 associates.

COMMENTS:

  • Assist molding department with machine and tooling problems.
  • Work with Tooling & Engineering department to improve molding defects
  • Assist with department cost improvements by reducing cost, unscheduled downtime, and improving overall efficiencies.
  • Track individual machine performance to assist in justifying budget.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting department Cperf's
  • Assist with implementation of CIO suggestions.
  • Actively involved in improving safety plant wide
