Job Description:

Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking highly motivated Digital Forensic Lead to join our Aerospace team in Indianapolis, IN to support our government clients.

The successful applicant will closely be working with Security Team, dedicated to the overall security and safety of the client's estate, the Digital Forensic Lead, is first and foremost the single point of contact for all initial requests and forensic enquiries arising from the client. Liaising with both the Investigations Manager and their Corporate Security Team, the primary focus of this role is to ensure the client is supported with all forensic requirements (in accordance with contractual obligations), including evaluating the initial requests and carrying out investigations on their behalf, in cases where they require assistance. The particular nature or sensitivity of an investigation may determine the level of assistance or engagement required, with some investigations remaining 'in-house'.

Job Responsibilities:

The Digital Forensic Lead is responsible for: -



  • The Seizure of digital devices and media
  • Securing data using forensic acquisition techniques
  • The collection and retrieval of data from Endpoint and Cloud infrastructures
  • Recovery, examination, and investigation of data
  • Conducting DFIR related Forensic activities, remaining dedicated to any incident and investigation exercise once instructed to do so.
  • When required, deploying the capabilities of the Forensic Lab, physically at the site of an incident within 24 hours of an alert
  • If a remote investigation is possible, instigate a Forensic Investigation upon alert of requirement to do so (by reasonable direction by Customer's Director IT Security or nominee) within 15 minutes of an alert.
  • Conducting DFIR related Forensic activities, remaining dedicated to any incident and investigation exercise once instructed to do so.
  • Supply forensic reports as required by the client, with the presentation of findings to the required evidential standard
  • Managing and maintaining the client's Forensic Lab, including the Forensic tool set employed by the Client
  • Assist with the storage, backup and archiving of client data within the Forensic Lab
  • Completing administrative tasks covering forensic processes undertaken
  • Supporting the creation and update of Forensic WI and SOP Documentation and controlled disclosure.


Required Qualifications:



  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance (DoD Secret).
  • EnCase Certified Examiner [EnCE] (Preferred), or EC-Council Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator [CHFI], or Equivalent or comparable Industry Certification
  • Practical and investigative experience using other forensic tools such as FTK,Axiom ,X-Ways Forensics, Autopsy, Cellebrite or XRY, other open-source tools.
  • Data capture techniques and forensic imaging tools, such as FTK Imager, LinEN, Guymager, Tableau Imager
  • Practical and investigative experience, analysing mobile devices, using Cellebrite or XRY
  • Experience in anti-forensics, the analysis of malware and APT's
  • Demonstrate an understanding in the use of programming languages or scripting in areas such as Unix, Python, PowerShell, Grep, EnCase Scripts
  • Understanding of forensic guidelines, related laws and regulations, including Regulation & Investigatory Powers Act 2000 [RIPA], Police & Criminal Evidence Act 1984 [PACE], ACPO Good Practice Guide for Digital Forensics [ACPO Guidelines]
  • An understanding of networking principles, such as the OSI Model and TCP/IP
  • Ability to accurately deliver and present complex topics in layman's terms
  • Experience in a 'Service Improvement' environment
  • Experience in delivering customer services to SLA's
  • The ability to deal with and communicate with members of senior management
  • Confidence in the provision and presentation of complex and sensitive information.
  • Possess excellent customer relations skills to successfully address the concerns and requirements of the Client and or their representatives

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $110K-$135k.

This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
