Position Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Orion FCE Subsystem Manager and become a vital contributor to support NASA as an Oceaneering Teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Crew Subsystem section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract. Duties And Responsibilities
Some of your major responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring system readiness for flight support. Emphasis will be on Mission Evaluation Room tasks and support for Console readiness/certification for the Orion Flight Crew Equipment team, Mission simulation support and scheduling, Console documentation management, Support for Flight Rules development. Working with the Orion management teams to develop a console support plan for prelaunch through postlanding operations for Orion missions.
- Review system architectures, hardware requirements, designs, assembly procedures, test plans and procedures to ensure approaches are sound for the proposed application.
- Provide recommendations for program acceptance of requirements verification, testing, and hazards.
- Provide recommendations for improvements to system architectures, hardware requirements, designs, test plans, and procedures if disparities/deficiencies are identified.
- Assess any potential impacts to design modifications which would lead to a delta qualification effort.
- Review the Phase III hazard reports and associated verification products.
- Keep relevant stakeholders abreast of project development and operational status.
- Serve as a key stakeholder in review of all program milestones such as verification activities, hardware qualification events, and certification of hardware.
- Travel as required in support of technical reviews, testing, and exchanges.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- A BS Engineering degree from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience
- Experience in the design, assembly, testing, certification, and operation of space systems and components during pre-launch, flight, and post-landing phases.
- Experience coordinating space systems requirements verification and validation between multiple organizations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical
disciplines. - Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, testing, and office software..
PREFERED:
- Familiar with JSC organizations, processes, and procedures.
- Familiar with the spacecraft habitation systems
- Mission Evaluation Room Console experience
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with Systems Engineering processes and techniques
- The ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
- Familiarity with the Engineering Life Cycle process.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
