Primary purpose
The Associate Project Manager (APM) provides support to the Project Management Team and leads small scale project activities and cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are completed within scope, budget, and on schedule while maintaining all necessary documentation.
Essential functions
- Offers project support to the Project Management Team by completing assigned tasks within a larger scale project
- Defines the project scope, objectives, and deliverables, involving all relevant stakeholders.
- Develops structured project plans and overall project schedule that outline the activities, tasks, risks, resources, and milestones.
- Drives cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manages change requests to ensure all parties are informed of the impact on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Analyzes the project progress and coordinates with the project team to identify constraints and re-align the project efforts following any instituted risk mitigation strategies.
- Establishes effective project communication strategies to keep team members, stakeholders, and clients informed of the project progress.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
- Conducts post project evaluations and identifies lessons learned for reference to future projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum requirements
Education and/or experience
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Associate Project Manager
- Minimum of one (1) year of tissue banking experience or experience as a project leader.
- Ability to manage multiple low to moderate complexity projects.
Work environment and physical activities
- Some overnight travel required.
- Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
Desired qualifications
- Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize workload in accordance with project priorities and timelines with focus on execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point, and Outlook).
