JOB DESCRIPTION

TMZ is seeking a Senior Web Producer to lead and manage our Web Edit team. This role will contribute to the creation, production, and distribution of video content in a fast-paced, 24/7 news environment. The Senior Web Producer will be responsible for editing, packaging, and optimizing video assets sourced from a wide range of channels for publication across TMZ's website and social media platforms. This role requires sharp news judgment, a strong command of editorial standards, and technical expertise in video editing.

The ideal candidate will be a creative self-starter with a deep passion for pop culture, entertainment news, sports, and internet culture, paired with exceptional editorial judgment and an instinct for compelling storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Web Edit team, providing content for TMZ's web and social platforms
  • Video/Audio editing with Adobe Premiere
  • Creating engaging thumbnails for video player with Adobe Photoshop
  • Identifying, pitching, and developing compelling stories
  • Sourcing and verifying video assets
  • Collaborate closely with News, Sports and Production teams
  • Identifying and tracking clips used by TMZ Field Producers
  • Providing videos for distribution to affiliates and other outlets
  • Converting and Transcoding videos of various formats

Requirements

  • 5 years of editing experience in a newsroom environment
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop
  • Interest in current events and trends
  • Strong editorial judgement
  • Online Video Platform familiarity (YouTube, CMS, JW Player, etc)
  • Basic web development / HTML knowledge
  • Familiarity with various video formats (MP4, MOV, etc)
  • Efficient in Google Workspace
  • Team player who can work with different departments
  • Ability to work full-time from our Playa Vista location

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $85,000.00-95,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
