This recruitment will be used to build an Eligibility List for the following locations: Eagle Mountain (Desert Center, CA), Hinds (Desert Center, CA), Iron Mountain (Earp, CA), Gene Camp (Parker Dam, CA), and Intake (Parker Dam, CA). This list will be valid for 6 months from the date a candidate accepts the position. The Metropolitan Water District's Water System Operations Group has one opening for Operations & Maintenance Technician IV-Electrical. One (1) position is located at Eagle Mountain. As an Operations & Maintenance Technician IV - Electrical you will utilize journey level electrical skills, experience and knowledge in the practices, procedures, and methods of installing, maintaining, and repairing complex and general water utility and facility electrical systems. Your activities will include maintaining and improving electrical systems in and associated with pumps, turbines, generators, transformers, motors, and associated facilities and processes, including high voltage overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. This position is eligible to rent Metropolitan Water District housing. To view the full job description click here: OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN IV (ELECTRICAL) EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR High school diploma or a certificate of high school equivalency in addition to the attainment of journey level skills through a recognized electrical trade training program. Journey level experience as demonstrated by practical application of general and advanced techniques and practices specific to the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in treatment or pump plants, conveyance and distribution, power generation systems, and related apparatus.
