Our team Engineering & Nuclear Safety organization is seeking a Career Mechanical Engineer.
Under general supervision, this individual: Performs professional engineering or scientific assignments of a moderate degree of complexity. *Requires in-depth knowledge and expertise in own discipline and working knowledge of related disciplines *Uses best practices and looks for opportunities to improve products or processes *Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions *Acts as a resource for other team members; may lead projects with limited risk and resource requirements *Has knowledge of best practices within own discipline and function *Integrates with other departments, disciplines, and functions *Solves complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information *Impacts a range of business, operational, or project activities within their own and related teams *Works within broad guidelines and procedures *Accountable for limited scope of project outcome *Effectively deals with conflicting priorities and opinions among internal and external colleagues
Typical assignments * Develops a strong knowledge of proficiency in CPCCo's engineering policies, practices and procedures and ensure all work is performed in compliance with engineering procedures. * Providing administrative and technical direction of activities within the engineering discipline. * Reviewing designs and drawings for compliance with applicable codes and standards. * Demonstrating creativity, adaptive thinking and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and/or solving complex or novel engineering problems. * Developing schedule and cost estimates as required and manage as assigned. * Generating designs, specifications, and acceptance test procedures. * Developing, reviewing and revising maintenance procedures. * Monitoring field activities to ensure compliance with the engineered designs associated with mechanical installations. * Authoring technical evaluations of equipment and facilities as requested. * Assisting in resolution of field installation issues, providing input to construction field changes and supporting acceptance testing. * Maintaining a spare parts inventory.
Basic Qualifications
* Career Level Grade 18: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 6 or more years of relevant experience.
* Senior Level Grade 19: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 8 or more years of relevant experience.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience supporting nuclear/radiological facilities. * Broad knowledge of mechanical systems. * Experience with DOE Nuclear Safety requirements. * Experience as Design Authority/System Engineer for operating nuclear facility.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
* Intermediate Level Grade 18: $92,700- $148,550.
* Intermediate Level Grade 19: $101,950 - $163,050.
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
