Summary:


Seeking an experienced Analytics Developer to be part of a dynamic agile team developing innovative solutions for Landstar System, Inc. You must possess a strong knowledge of SQL and data warehouse fundamentals. You must have the ability to work with data and build complex SQL queries and scripts. You desire to collaborate with the business to provide new solutions, grow your analytics skills and hone your existing technical skills.



This position is part of the new AI and Analytics Information Technology Team including the Data Warehouse/Lakehouse and is responsible for working collaboratively with other agile team members, product owners and business stakeholders to provide Analytics Solutions.



Essential Responsibilities:



  • Design, development, automation, and support of analytics and business intelligence solutions. Ensures data quality during and after development
  • Proficient in the understanding of relational databases and Data Warehouses
  • Using current versions of BI Tools (MS BI Tools such as PowerBI, SSAS, SSRS and SSIS and Cognos Analytics, preferred).
  • Create SQL queries and stored procedures for report development, data validation, and QA.
  • Creation and use of cube technology and star schema models.
  • Conduct all phases of testing from unit testing to user acceptance testing
  • Proficient in using data tools and other means to analyze data
  • Proficient in Interpreting and translating data into meaningful and actionable business solutions
  • Advocate data quality by defining quality assurance checks for data and other means to analyze data quality and usage
  • Create and document data solutions, data requirements, report requirements to fulfill business requests
  • Analytical mind capable of using data to solve business problems
  • Proficient in providing technical and data expertise for the business



Required Minimum Experience and Education:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of recent analytics/reporting experience using Power BI UI
  • 3 or more years of SQL development to create database objects for analytics
  • 3 or more years of design, development, automation, and support of analytics and business intelligence solutions ensuring data quality during and after development
  • 3 years or more experience following and/or implementing IT procedures including deployments, CI/CD, security compliance and technical documentation.



Preferred Experience and Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 year databricks experience
  • 1 year experience working with Analytics tools
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • SDLC Experience in IT and PowerBI; on-call experience and trouble-shooting and issue resolution
  • Data Engineering Experience, a plus
  • Strong desire to build frameworks that include reusable and repeatable solutions
  • Expertise in database programming (T-SQL, PL/SQL) and creation of database objects
  • Knowledge of CI/CD procedures, disaster recovery planning, database security compliance, with hands-on experience in SOX regulations and technical documentation
