Duties, Responsibilities & Other

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will:

    Understand and contextualize business processes to develop analytics solutions that balance operational priorities and efficiency.
  • Utilize analytic platforms and data governance strategies to create a seamless experience for users.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define key metrics, develop scalable dashboards, and effectively communicate progress.
  • Identify and troubleshoot unanticipated complex data problems or unexpected results and provide solutions to resolve identified concerns.
  • Perform modeling and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets to develop metrics, reports, visualizations of trends and patterns, and predictive analytics.
  • Gather and confirm user requirements for various analytics projects.
  • Develop and implement efficient data collection strategies.
  • Perform required data cleaning and manipulation before analyses
  • Automate the collection and analysis of large data sets from customer systems and third-party services.
  • Lead end-to-end ETL processes, including requirements gathering, data acquisition, business process analysis, transformation, and integration across multiple domains and enterprise solutions.
  • Leverage Safe Software FME and related tools to design, automate, and optimize workflows for data transformation, validation, and delivery.
  • Design and implement scalable ETL solutions that integrate with and utilize APIs, Python scripts, and modern data management platforms.
  • Interact with stakeholders to create and leverage business intelligence capabilities in support of business objectives.
  • Recommend, deploy, and manage the implementation of business intelligence, data visualization, reporting tools, and dashboards based on available data and KPIs to drive decisions.
  • Stay current on the latest technologies, data engineering approaches, and integration methods.
  • Regularly interact and build relationships with senior management, customers, and business partners.
  • Support development of proposals in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Support business development and marketing initiatives by meeting with customers and prospective customers, attending industry events, and giving presentations.
  • Mentor data analysts and associate data analysts by developing, coaching, and growing team members through continuous learning.
  • Supervise staff, as assigned.
  • Provide performance feedback to staff and/or supervisors of staff.
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures.
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned.

Skills and Other:

  • Knowledgeable of data analysis methods and techniques
  • Experience with current data and analytics platforms and tools
  • Experience with data extraction, Safe Software FME, Python, SQL, Power Query, APIs, and ETL/data engineering tools and query languages required.
  • Proficiency with Esri cloud, desktop, web, and mobile product lines, with the ability to integrate spatial analysis into other platforms preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage information into data-driven decisions for tactical and strategic support of client programs
  • Motivated team player with demonstrated experience working constructively on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently and produce high-quality deliverables without excessive oversight and instruction
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills


Qualifications

Education, Skills and/or experiences required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field is required. Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Minimum eight years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role

Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Education, Skills and/or experiences preferred

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field is preferred
  • Experience in a consulting role is strongly preferred
  • Experience in utilities, facilities, transportation, water, and/or state/local government markets is strongly preferred
