ARES is looking for an individual with experience in risk management to join our team supporting the Human Spaceflight Technical Integration Contract at the Johnson Space Center. The risk management candidate will facilitate the identification and mitigation of technical, cost, schedule, and safety risks for the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) project under the Gateway Program.

Duties include:

  • Facilitate the risk management processes to identify, plan, track, and control operational/technical risks.
  • Understand the technical/programmatic content in the risks.
  • Manage the mitigation steps and pulse the team on a routine basis to ensure completion.
  • Provide risk management subject matter expertise across the project.
  • Chair a pre-board working group to review and provide recommendations on risk content prior to presenting at the HALO Control Board.
  • Serve as the primary HALO POC for the risk management tool, interface with customers, provide training on process changes, coordinate with development team on requirements, additional capabilities, and other required features.
  • Conduct training and education on new capabilities and process updates with stakeholders.
  • Interface with teams to integrate and capture data to get an increased understanding of likelihood and consequence rating.
  • Develop risk reports and brief NASA project and program managers on risk status at various risk boards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge of risk management processes
  • Engineering background
  • Knowledge of risk management processes
  • Engineering/Technical background
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communications with peers, management, and customers.
  • Demonstrated self-initiative to identify problem areas and implement solutions on a task and project level.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, team environment with a short turnaround time.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting large complex aerospace programs a plus.

Education and Relevant Work Experience:

  • A BS/BA degree in science, engineering, or math with 5+ years experience.
