The 16 x Burnside Recovery Center, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet a critical need in our community: providing extended residential treatment for individuals transitioning out of Hooper Detoxification and Stabilization Center. The Burnside Recovery Center offers 3.7 Level of Care services, focusing on stabilization and support for clients with substance use disorders as their primary diagnosis, along with co-occurring mental health conditions. Our integrated, person-centered care model meets clients and their families where they are, combining therapy, mental health services, medical care, and community-based management into one coordinated pathway to recovery. With expedited access to primary care, outpatient substance use disorder services, and recovery-supportive housing, our holistic approach empowers clients to achieve long-term success.

This position provides direct patient care for a medically monitored 24-hour, 7-day a week residential recovery center. Has the support of Medical Director and Nursing Supervisor.



  • Location: 16th and Burnside Recovery Center (1616 E. Burnside Street, Portland 97214)
  • Potential Shift Opportunities: Sunday - Saturday, (7:00am - 5:30pm)
  • Compensation: $53.10 per Hour


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)



  1. Required: Completion of an accredited two, three or four year course of training for nurses.
  2. Required: Current Oregon RN license, as-issued by the State of Oregon's Board of Nursing (BON).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Provide direct care and delegate care of patients as indicated by patient needs.
  2. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the standing orders and/or by physician. Utilize Pyxis and maintain electronic bed list.
  3. Observe and record pertinent information with regard to the care and condition of patients.
  4. Formulate individualized nursing care plans and participate in patient care conferences.
  5. Make referrals to hospitals and other agencies.
  6. Provide patient care and other work related directives for Subacute Technicians.
  7. Assist the staff physician. Respond in emergency situations.
  8. Give and receive report at shift changes.
  9. Consult with other health team members to lend guidance as necessary.
  10. Work closely with clinical staff ensuring integrated patient care.
  11. Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers' patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.

  5. Knowledge of community resources.
  6. Knowledge of de-escalation methods or ability to be trained in de-escalation methods.
  7. Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
  8. Ability to work in an environment where people may be hostile or abusive.
  9. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  10. Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  11. Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork.
  12. Ability to learn and apply training instruction.
  13. Knowledge of medical assessment with intoxicated persons.
