Job Summary

Dorman is seeking several Engineering Interns to join our team for Summer 2026. In this internship, for 10 to 12 weeks, you will play an active role on the Mechanical Engineering Service Team, a support group to the Product Engineering organization, specifically within mechanical design, prototyping, and metrology teams. Performance will be monitored to assure learning and development is happening and you will be expected to present project details to our leadership team at the conclusion of the internship. Primary Duties

  • Utilize lab best practices to prepare sample parts for evaluation.
  • Perform internal product dimensional testing in the laboratory and create documentation.
  • Record data from testing in standard formats and provide results to product and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with product teams to create CAD models, prototype parts, drawings, and documentation based on data acquired individually or with support.
  • Interpret 3D models and 2D drawings to create/assemble prototypes.
  • Maintain Lean/5S environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Familiaritywith vehicle systems, including bodyand electronics, is preferred.
  • Experience with 3D CAD and/or CAM preferred.
  • Knowledge of 3Dprinting and/or machining is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated communication ability.

Education / Experience

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, MechanicalEngineering Technology, or similar engineering-related discipline preferred, but not required
