*Salary Range: $87.04/Hour - $99.00/Hour

ORAU is seeking a Fully Remote, Senior Advisor- Drug Pricing Policy Subject Matter Expert to work with CMMI as an ORAU employee. This exciting work will last 3 months or more. This position is 10 hours per week.

CMMI was established by Congress in 2010 to identify ways to improve healthcare quality and reduce costs in the Medicare, Medicaid, and Children's Health Insurance (CHIP) programs. Following this charge, CMMI, through its models, initiatives and congressionally mandated demonstrations, has accelerated the shift from a health care system that pays for volume to one that pays for value. CMMI models are also researching and testing different approaches to innovative information technology systems which are essential to supporting this value transformation.



Responsibilities

The Drug Pricing Policy Expert will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of the President's Executive Order on Most Favored Nation Drug Pricing. This position requires a deep understanding of prescription drug pricing models and their impacts on manufacturers, plans, providers, and beneficiaries. The successful candidate will bring unique expertise in plan bidding and underwriting strategies, coupled with extensive experience in drug reimbursement, supply chain, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and drug approvals.

    Collaborate with CMMI on drug pricing model development, clearance, and implementation.
  • Review model materials and provide expert feedback to advance strategy and execution.
  • Advise staff on the latest market and industry trends related to drug pricing.
  • Provide substantive comments and expert input to internal policy development documents for drug model strategies, and other future initiatives.
  • Participate in regular meetings to iterate on policy design concepts and initiatives.
  • Engage in ad-hoc meetings related to overall CMMI strategy, offering expert guidance informed by research and industry knowledge.
  • Conduct research and provide thought partnership to shape drug pricing models and strategies.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Public Health or related field and 20+ years of experience.
  • Senior level experience in prescription drug pricing, with a specific focus on Part D plan bidding and underwriting strategies within the last two years.
  • Proven expertise in drug reimbursement, supply chain management, PBMs, and drug approvals.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to assess and provide feedback on complex drug pricing models.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey expert perspectives and research findings to diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with CMMI's drug pricing models and regulatory processes.
  • Experience working with federal government agencies on healthcare policy development.
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of data into actionable insights for policy design and implementation.
