Position Summary |
This position serves as the Sport Management Academic Support Specialist for the department of Kinesiology. Duties including serving as the academic support specialist for SM master's non-thesis students, provide administrative support specific to internship and practicum experiences for SM undergraduate and graduate students, as well as serve as the recruitment lead for the SM program. This position will also assist the SM program coordinator and senior academic advisor in DoubleDawgs admissions, track and gather data on SM graduate job placement, while also assisting with developing a SM alumni database. This role will be responsible for creating social media and communications pieces, coordinating in-person and virtual guest speakers, manage and distribute weekly SM student newsletter, and serve as the lead for organizing
UGA Sport Industry Alumni Council events and SM program special events. |

Serve as the academic support specialist for Sport Management master's non-thesis students.
Includes:
- Coordinating the academic advising and course registration process for SM master's students
- Gather data needed for the forecasting of SM graduate course offerings and enrollments
- Work with SM Program Coordinator to organize and track SM graduate application files
- Work closely with Graduate Program Administrator to keep SM graduate students aware of Graduate School requirements, deadlines, and required forms
- Serve as the liaison between SM graduate students and the SM program regarding degree requirements and responsibilities
- Coordinate SM master's non-thesis capstone project submissions
- Serve as the primary communication point for SM master's non-thesis students with respect to academic advising and course registration questions

- Assist students with identifying suitable sites
- Serve as a liaison between SM program and site supervisors
- Manage the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between UGA and the site
- Serve as the point of contact for departmental MOUs and maintain correspondence with various sites & contact students when MOU is approved
