Introduction to the job

As a Technical Training Project Analyst for Manufacturing Services Training and Development, you will act as a liaison between Engineering and Training & Development teams, translating technical requirements into learning needs. You will support strategic initiatives focused on data-driven decision-making, process optimization, and digital transformation. This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering and management background who excels in cross-functional collaboration and project execution.

Role and responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a network of stakeholders; effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Translate technical requirements to effective task-based skills development training content and delivery methods.
  • Assess and adjust strategies and processes to meet ongoing business development demands.
  • Lead projects and oversee the execution of training programs.
  • Create dashboards and other training program-related data visualizations
  • Create and maintain project documents and timelines, including capacity plans.
  • Create training project plans. Monitor and control the progress of Training & Development projects. Attend and organize relevant meetings and reviews in order to realize the plan. Represent the Training and Development team in cross-sector project teams.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments.
  • Analyze business requirements and create reports and learning solution proposals to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Interface with engineering, technical support, manufacturing, field service, safety and other instructors in the Learning and Development community to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist with initiation activities, including scope definition, stakeholder mapping, and resource planning. Monitor project progress and performance against established timelines and deliverables.
  • Support project planning and execution across departments using Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog management, and KPI tracking.
  • Coordinate logistics and communication for project related meetings with multiple stakeholders (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering) to translate high level requirements into clear deliverables and managing project scope changes with stakeholders.
  • Conduct data analysis and build interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, SQL) to monitor project performance, workforce capacity, and identify operational trends and risks and develop appropriate mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and enhance efficiency and lessons learned.
  • Drive digitization efforts by implementing scalable solutions and streamlining reporting systems.
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, operations, and leadership teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma and design thinking principles to solve complex problems and improve project outcomes.
  • Develop and Maintain detailed project plans, roadmaps, and workstream plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success and effectiveness of the Training and Development team.

Education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Degree in Management (Business Administration) along with Technical background in Engineering with a strong academic record a plus
  • Experience in project management, data analytics, and business process improvement.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Jira, Confluence, and Agile tools.
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking, and Agile project tools.
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Product Management experience required
  • Business Analytics experience preferred
  • Capacity planning experience required
  • Demonstrated capability to translate technical requirements to actionable task based learning and skills development
  • CAPM required
  • Excel proficiency with data entry, formulas/functions, data visualization, pivot tables
  • PowerBI proficiency required

Other information

This position is located on-site in San Diego, California

  • It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
  • A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to type.
  • Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to work in a cleanroom environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • May require travel (specify domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$65,250-108,750

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
