Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Landscape Operations Lead to oversee comprehensive landscape maintenance operations for our commercial property. This role requires expertise in turf management, equipment coordination, and specialized maintenance tasks to ensure world class appearance and exceptional standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mowing Operations & Scheduling

  • Plan, manage and execute weekly mowing schedules for all property areas by leading group of landscape technicians

  • Manage mowing programs for both cool and warm season grasses

  • Maintain native plant areas and berms according to best practices

  • Perform specialized mowing around pond areas and rip rap

Comprehensive Turf Care Program

  • Ensure health and quality of turf by leading the following:

    • Oversee overseeding and sod installation projects

    • Coordinate aeration and dethatching operations as scheduled

    • Assist with implementation of integrated turf weed control programs

    • Coordinate fertilizer application program to optimize turf health with Horticulture Technician

    • Conduct soil sample testing and analysis

Equipment & Shop Management

  • Coordinate all equipment maintenance schedules and repairs

  • Manage shop duties and responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain tools, supplies, and inventory systems

  • Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform routine drain inspections and maintenance checks

  • Provide support to horticulture and irrigation team

  • Execute property repairs and enhancement projects

  • Snow removal and ice melt application

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures including storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials

  • Ensure team maintains compliance with all codes, laws and regulations and adheres to safety standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ years experience in commercial grounds maintenance or landscape

  • Knowledge of turf management practices and seasonal care

  • Experience with landscape equipment operation and maintenance

  • Understanding of fertilizer and pesticide application (certification preferred)

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Effective leadership skills that will motivate the team and foster a positive & productive work environment

  • Knowledge with computer operating systems and programs (Microsoft Office, Bluebeam PDF editor, Microsoft Edge, Chrome), irrigation control systems and new innovations & technologies in the landscaping space.

  • Provides excellent customer service by utilizing professional and effective language, communication, andtimely follow-through

  • Ability to comply with both Jones Lang LaSalle and client-directed Policies & Procedures.

  • Action & complete work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) according to designated service level agreements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in Horticulture, Turf Management, or related field

  • Commercial pesticide applicator license

  • Equipment maintenance certification

Work Environment

  • Wear PPE such as safety glasses or goggles, ear protection, hand gloves, hearing protection, fall protection, hats, sunscreen, steel-toed or composite boots, hi-visibility vest or other PPE as required.

  • Work overtime when necessary, including on-call for emergency or other seasonal duties.

  • Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and stretching.

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be willing and able to work in all climate conditions.
