Your responsibilities
The Material Planner Supervisor is responsible for providing direction and guidance to the material planning team. This position will develop and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring that vendors understand and follow thyssenkrupp BILSTEIN's expectations and requirements. This position is responsible for maintaining efficient inventory strategies and implementing lean practices to reduce inventory costs while maintaining production coverage at all times. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
- Meets production and parts requirements while optimizing inventory levels, lot sizing, lead times, packaging, and transportation costs
- Provides subject matter expertise and collaboration support for the development of material logistics plans
- Achieves financial objectives by working with management group to ensure the Inventory budget, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.
- Tracks supplier performance and implements strategies to develop and improve scores.
- Implements and manages established and continuously improving materials management processes in an excellent and cost effective way using continuous improvement and lean processes and tools as part of the Organization's standard operating system.
- Fosters a culture of transparency, disciplined problem solving, high performance work teams, and continuous improvement to ensure the plant meets its strategic and annual operating goals. Strives to ensure the appropriate team, tools, and processes are in place to support these desired cultural traits.
- Develops subordinates and administers human resources programs as they relate to performance and compensation management, utilization of training resources, and the application of company policies and procedures for the planning team. Coaches, provides feedback to and develops team members.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Your profile
Qualifications & Experience:
- Consider experience as a Material Planner with demonstrated knowledge of Master Planning and Demand Management.
- Considerable experience working with large ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and demonstrated capability to utilize software systems effectively to manage and analyze large, complex data sets.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Considerable automotive Tier 1 experience with multiple Original Equipment Manufacturer Suppliers. (OEMS). Proven supplier relationship management experience with the ability to strategically plan for and manage all interactions with third party organizations in order to maximize the value of those interactions.
- Strong, proven effective hands-on leadership experience that garners trust and loyalty from subordinates and possesses and displays integrity and ethics that are beyond reproach. Proven ability to build strong business relationships at all levels throughout an organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating teams in situations associated with high volumes of work and/or customer demands. This would include providing direction, coaching, and effective feedback to team members.
- Proven experience building relationships, with the ability to identify and initiate working relationships and to develop and maintain them in a way that is of mutual benefit to both parties.
- Proven supplier relationship management experience with the ability to strategically plan for and manage all interactions with third party organizations in order to maximize the value of those interactions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Demonstrated strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication, problem solving and leadership skills necessary.
- Critical-thinker with strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail needed. Due to the speed and rate of change occurring in this manufacturing environment, must be able to problem solve and think independently.
- Is flexible, adaptable and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Able and willing to work any continuous or fixed schedule, possibly including an excessive number of hours in a single work day, on any day of the calendar week depending on business needs.
- Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
- Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.
- Proven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business preferred.
