Requisition ID req34665 Working Title Training & Devt Consultant Position Grade 12 Position Summary The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The CDD's Home Visiting Consultation Team seeks a candidate for the role of Training and Development Consultant to deliver statewide consultation and professional development on evidence-based practices for services delivered through the New Mexico ECECD Home Visiting Program which provides services for prenatal individuals and young children from birth to age five and their families. The individual hired for this position will work independently statewide to conduct regularly scheduled in person or virtual consultation for ECECD Home Visiting Programs. They will guide Home Visiting Programs in strategic planning and continuous quality improvement efforts, and provide targeted consultation needed to increase capacity and skill level of Home Visiting providers. They will use research-based evidence, data, and state standard requirements as a guide. They will communicate and collaborate with state level partners and will document and develop reports on consultation services provided. The individual will develop training modules, guidance documents, and resource material on evidence-based practices in Home Visiting that are delivered through a variety of formats. The ideal candidate for this position has a background, knowledge, and experience in Home Visiting and a strong capacity for working as a team member. We are looking for someone who has a strong capacity for reflection, relates well with others, and can express themselves well verbally. The individual will have strong writing skills, is able to provide training, facilitate discussion and reflection on an individual level, and in small and large groups. The individual will have a solid foundation of knowledge in child development, relationship-based practices, infant mental health principles, home visiting evidence-based models, reflective practice, strategic planning, and continuous quality improvement. They will have a familiarity with, and an understanding of, the development and management of home visiting programs. We are looking for a candidate that is skilled in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and working efficiently. They will have strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies from diverse communities throughout New Mexico. The individual must have the ability to be flexible with shifting priorities. This is a term position subject to continuous employment renewed annually and based on annual funding. Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications **Be sure to address our preferred qualifications listed below in your cover letter** Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Early Childhood Education or a related field with an emphasis on early childhood and working with families. Experience, knowledge, and understanding of relationship-based work, reflective practice, and infant mental health. Experience in strategic planning, continuous quality improvement, consultation and working in collaboration with professional development teams and state partners. Skills in the use of technology to develop and deliver training and consultation including development of training modules, guidance documents, and resource material. Demonstrated level of experience with, and knowledge of, child development, working with families, home visiting programs, evidence-based models and approaches to Home Visiting. Knowledge of adult learning principles and implementation science and experienced in delivering training and consultation in-person and virtually for a wide range of constituencies from diverse communities.
