Overview:
Egan Company is looking for a Product & OEM Controls Engineer who will bring leadership and technical expertise to the Product & OEM automation group. Be part of a great team with minimal weekend travel. Primary focus will be on automation projects and customer service calls and visits dealing with controls, data acquisition, wiring and other related issues in the concrete industry. The selected candidate will be skilled in the design, installation, and upkeep of PLC based controls in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer a variety of concrete batching control systems that integrate new and existing hardware/software for comprehensive and intuitive operation.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot Rockwell PLCs, Panelviews, VFDs and industrial communication networks.
- Troubleshoot controls, instruments, and electrical problems adversely affecting the manufacturing process.
- Perform on-site commissioning and training.
- Assist and provide training to maintenance, production or other technicians as needed with technical or troubleshooting-related matters.
- Analytically evaluate the system equipment to optimize system performance.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair customer's control system as required, either onsite or remotely.
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using advanced tools, with a strong emphasis on digital multimeters.
- Measure Voltage, current, and resistance in AC/DC circuits up to 600v to pinpoint electrical faults, open circuits, and short circuits.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience coding in the following languages; MSSQL, C++, VBA, C#, and XAML.
- Understand UL 508A control panel construction/design requirements.
- AutoCAD.
- 2-4 year college experience.
Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and components. (CompactLogix, ControlLogix, MicroLogix)
- 5 or more years of controls experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
- Demonstrated expertise in the practical and safe use of digital multimeters for electrical troubleshooting and component testing.
- Familiarity with industrial control panel components and their purpose.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask and meet deadlines.
- Motivated, creative and enthusiastic to learn and ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate technically, both internally and externally with customers, as needed.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time. Most travel is Monday to Friday.
- Possesses the manual dexterity to handle small components and use hand and power tools.
- The ability to climb, balance, and work on ladders and other elevated platforms.
- Works in various environments, including navigating tight spaces and working in hot, cold, or inclement weather conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Performance of duties will be in the office or jobsites. Deployment to anywhere is the United States or Canada. Travel may be required up to 30%.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to climb ladders or stairs.
- Works in various environments, including navigating tight spaces and working in hot, cold, or inclement weather conditions.

Salary Range: $72,000 - $90,000 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
