Material Tech Aide (Design & Construction Support)
Overview This position requires the Material Technical Aide to provide support to Design, Engineering, Procurement, Supplier Quality, Planning and various shipyard trade organizations with the development and consumption of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Common Parts Catalog (CPC) during the design, fabrication and construction of Columbia, Virginia classes and Overhaul/Repair contracts. Must be able to support the resolution of problems associated with the BOM, Military/commercial specifications, vendor drawings, shipbuilder drawings/disclosures and liability documents. This requires the ability to read and understand detail construction drawings/disclosures and their related documents. Also, the applicant should be familiar with material identification/selection and application processes and have good organizational, writing and computer skills (Microsoft Word) and have a working knowledge of the tools required to produce products from CATIA/CDM, Teamcenter/NX and the Common Parts Catalog. This position requires the ability to interpret and respond to Vendor Information Requests (VIR), initiate technical supplements using MRPII tools. *Flexible to work 1st or 2nd shift as the workload dictates.
