JOB TITLE:SENIOR IT & SYSTEMS MANAGER DEPARTMENT:IT & SYSTEMS REPORTS TO:DIRECTOR OF HR CLASSIFICATION:FULL-TIME CLEARANCE TYPE:SECRET Job Summary: The Senior IT & Systems Manager is responsible for Platform Aerospace's information systems, network administration, cybersecurity and IT compliance. This role ensures reliable, secure IT operations while leading technology initiatives that support all departments. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT & Systems department ensuring collaboration and accountability
- Manage vendors, budget, and technology planning
- Oversee administration of servers, cloud environments, ERP/MRP platforms, and enterprise applications; ensure patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure proper support, administration, and maintenance of Solidworks and PDM, providing seamless integration, data management systems, and secure file storage to optimize engineering workflows
- Oversee design, monitoring, and maintenance of LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks; ensure availability, performance, and security across sites.
- Ensure backups, disaster recovery, and data governance; maintain high system availability and business continuity.
- Partner with operations, engineering, finance, and leadership to align IT and automation with business needs.
- Serves as the SME for all technology and IT decisions.
- Support audit readiness and maintain compliance with federal and industry requirements
- Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5-7 years of IT experience with leadership responsibility.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Hands-on expertise in systems administration (Windows/Linux servers, cloud platforms, ERP/MRP).
- Strong background in network administration (switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless).
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements (CMMC/NIST/DFARS).
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Aerospace/defense or manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Solidworks experience preferred
- Certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft, or ITIL.
- Ability to concentrate while performing complex tasks for sustained periods
- Decision making skills, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Ability to traverse manufacturing facility
