We are seeking a highly motivated Construction Cost Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team for delivery of small, medium, and large-scale projects. You will work closely with a team of experts working alongside our customers on some of North America's most significant projects. You will work as part of the Owner's Representative Construction Management team to manage construction of heavy-civil public works projects.

Your key responsibilities will be to:



  • Administer construction contracts by reviewing contractor change requests, assessing cost/schedule impacts, and drafting finalized change order documentation.
  • Develop and maintain change order cost packages, active logs, and facilitate discussions with the Owner and Contractor to reach agreements.
  • Support or lead regular change order progress meetings and review contractor payment requests.
  • Manage RFIs and submittals by reviewing for completeness, ensuring conformance with contract requirements, and coordinating responses with the Owner and Designer.
  • Provide input on constructability, cost, and schedule implications, conveying responses to the Contractor and ensuring effective implementation.
  • Perform field inspections to confirm construction work aligns with contract plans and specifications, documenting findings thoroughly.
  • Identify and report non-conforming work, coordinating with the Designer and Contractor to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate the development of As-Built Drawings and oversee special inspections or material testing for construction quality assurance.

On top of that, you will have:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including construction cost estimating, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Reside near Morgan Hill, CA, or possess the ability to relocate.
  • Experience with public works construction projects.
  • Familiarity with owner-side contracting.
  • Experience with California-based construction projects.

Base compensation: $94,000 to $133,000 for LA location only. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, skill set and/or location
