Description

TYPICAL DUTIES:



  • Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work to be done.
  • Inspects refinery equipment for defects, such as, misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
  • Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
  • Advises when immediate shut-down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
  • Dismantle, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment.
  • Adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics.
  • Makes either temporary or permanent repairs.
  • Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits.
  • Operates simple machine tools, such as, drill press, pipe-threading machine, power saw, etc.
  • Babbitts and scrapes bearings as required.
  • Erects scaffolds and performs simple rigging as necessary.
  • Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions.
  • Works with repair crews as directed on emergency breakdowns.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience. A general knowledge of basic hand tools. Must be able to pass the Millwright Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft. Completed the Matrix Service C-Stop Plus Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training. To obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program.
