Wieland is hiring a CMM Programmer. The CMM Programmer will be responsible for operating and generating programs for coordinate measuring equipment to execute measurement and analysis of manufactured or supplied components with various laboratory measurement tools including CMM, Roundness Testers, Micrometers and provide direction as to potential root cause of failure or out of specification part to foster continuous improvement. This role is located in Lake Zurich, IL and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: 32.30 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7am - 3:30pm

Pay Schedule: Weekly



Responsibilities

CMM Programmer Responsibilities:

1. Creates, maintains, and validates Zeiss CMM programs and Faro Arm equipment used for the measurements of manufactured and supplied parts.
2. Performs ISIRs; verification of supplied materials, annual layout, and PPAP.
3. Assists and supports manufacturing/production personnel with various inspection activities.
4. Performs detailed analysis of parts to troubleshoot failure modes.
5. Performs first article inspection(s) of machined components.
6. Reads and interprets prints to inspect parts and offers suggestions to improve prints in terms of dimensions and tolerance specifications.
7. Creates written procedures/instructions in accordance with AS9100 quality system.
8. Completes capability studies with laboratory equipment.
9. Monitors capability statistics from CMM through QC Calc software package.
10. Maintains laboratory equipment.
11. Activities as assigned related to and in support of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
12. All other duties as assigned.

CMM Programmer Qualifications:

1. Communication-Writes clearly and informatively; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information. Speaks effectively before customers who may be on site and other employees within the organization.
2. Quality-Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
3. Qualifications:
4. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
5. High school Diploma or equivalent; 5+ years-experience and/or training with CMM programming in DMIS language (Open DMIS preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in GD&T and have an understanding of SPC.
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and an understanding of the Minitab statistical software. Proven ability to generate charts and graphs to depict data and trends in an easy-to-use format in popular spreadsheet software such as MS Excel.
7. Math-Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and PPM. Ability to convert units from metric to imperial and vice-versa and able to convert one unit to another. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
8. Reasoning-Defines problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
