The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a detailed-oriented collaborator to join our team as a lab furniture Project Estimator, supporting the sales team in different territories. The estimator is a motivated self-starter that works synergistically with sales and internal cross-functional teams to create accurate pricing proposals for customers across many segments (pharma, healthcare, commercial, electronics manufacturing, education, research, etc.) to outfit their laboratory space with a myriad of laboratory furnishings.

Preference will be given to candidates based in the Dallas area who are able to work in our office on a hybrid schedule. Additional time in the office may be required on an as needed basis for training and/or meetings.

The team

Avantor's Lab Furniture Services (LFS) team is part of our Lab Design Services business unit. This team supports the coordination of internal sales representatives to support every phase of furnishing a laboratory including overseeing the design-to-install process.

What we're looking for

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Mathematics, or a similar field and/or equivalent experience, education and training is required

  • Experience: Minimum 1+ years of related experience is required

  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of SAP software, 2020 Worksheet, AutoCAD, Revit, Salesforce and or C4C highly preferred

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Responsible for accuracy and on time delivery of all quotations & scope letters produced throughout the lifecycle of each project, from proposal, shop, fabrication, and installation stages.

  • Creates cost estimates and order processing documents for final communication of job requirements to ensure order accuracy.

  • Review post order modifications, estimate cost differences, and reconcile change orders.

  • Researches and obtains special pricing and details for custom items from various vendors as required.

  • Collaborate within the team to understand customer project requirements and bring forward recommendations, scope of work, and submittal package to meet customer's requirements.

  • Identifies opportunities for margin and lead time improvement with understanding for contract pricing, value engineering and furniture supply chain program.

  • Ability to read specifications, construction documents, and architectural drawings.

  • Accountable for self-check of design and take-off for technical and process standards.

  • Knowledge of lab furniture market, supplier base, and SEFA laboratory standards to determine ideal products to specify in any given project.

  • Adhere to schedules and adapt to changes as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$54,600.00 - $91,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
