The Opportunity We are looking for a skilled government relations professional with a strong background in state affairs, an agile mindset, and desire to advance American manufacturing and energy leadership. As Senior Manager State Government Relations, you will be responsible for building relationships with Governor's offices, state legislators, economic development organizations, and state-based trade associations. Reporting to the Vice President of Government & Institutional Relations and working closely with Regional Business Unit Leaders and Corporate Functions. - Represent Hitachi Energy with state and local governments to build relationships and drive meaningful energy, grid, and manufacturing policy.
- Lead engagement in states where Hitachi Energy has a strong presence including representing the company with local officials, hosting site visits, partnering with facility community managers on local/regional events, leading advocacy on regulatory and energy topics with state and local elected officials.
- Develop one-pagers, messaging materials, secure regional thought leadershipopportunities to elevate the brand, and effectively position Hitachi Energy with key local stakeholders.
- Proven track record of advancing policy and regulatory issues of importance related to the grid, AI/data centers, energy generation, and manufacturing with state officials.
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of direct work experience in state governmentrelations, state/county government experience, or state-based consultancy firm.
- Proven track record of advancing policies and building relationships in theSoutheastern region of the U.S.
- Experience in grid and manufacturing policies.
- Experience in policy research and state regulatory documents.
- Successful track record working across multiple stakeholders to drive actions and results.
- Focus on solving complex energy policy and regulatory issues.
- State legislative experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership and change management mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
