ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF OBOE TENURE TRACK Full/Part Time Status: Full Time Position Description: The School of Music seeks an artist-level performer and teacher of oboe committed to leading and cultivating the University of Iowa Oboe Studio into a clear position of excellence through engagement with prospective students, current students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to recruitment and teaching of undergraduate and graduate students, coordinating and coaching chamber music, teaching courses in the woodwind pedagogy and literature curriculum, reed classes, serving on recital and exam committees, and advising DMA thesis projects. It is also expected that the candidate be an outstanding performer and maintain an active performance schedule both on and off campus. Additional duties may be assigned in accordance with areas of expertise and in consultation with the Director of the School of Music. Why Join Us?
