The School of Music provides conservatory-like instruction at a Big 10 research institution, offering graduate and/or undergraduate degrees in composition, conducting, jazz studies, music education, music theory, music therapy, musicology, and performance. The School enrolls approximately 450 majors and has more than 50 full-time faculty members, situated in the Voxman Music Building, a state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2016 in downtown Iowa City. Duties: The Dr. Jo Benda and Dr. Charles Platz Assistant Professor of Collaborative Piano will lead the collaborative piano program; teach collaborative piano courses, coach chamber music, and collaborate with faculty in performances and recordings.
