Job Description
Harford Community College is currently seeking workforce and continuing education Phlebotomy Instructors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will instruct students using standardized curriculum, review lesson plans and prepare for class instruction, grade and electronically record assignments, actively promote student retention, support externship activities as applicable, and perform related work as required.

  • Teach evening classes
  • In-classroom/lab instructor
  • Responsible for updating curriculum as needed, including assignments, PowerPoints, LMS course, quizzes, and exams
  • Complete all college-mandated training, as assigned


Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. Work is generally performed on the College campus unless otherwise specified.

If you apply on or after November 1 of the current year , your application will remain active until December 31 of the following calendar year.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position.
Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)

Required Experience

  • Experience teaching adult learners
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Three (3) years of experience working as a Phlebotomy Technician

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Possess excellent teaching skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with students in the classroom and as an academic advisor
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and course and program development
  • Experience using instructional technology and MS Office
  • Ability to use a variety of instructional strategies to support and motivate students

Preferred Qualifications
General Weekly Work Schedule
Evening classes (6:00 pm - 9:15 pm); 2 nights per week for 14 weeks.
Schedule will also vary based on clinical externship(s).
