As a Formulation Chemist within our Photochromic Coating Formulation Research and Development Team in the Specialty Products Team at the Monroeville S&T facility, you will conduct hands-on laboratory work, collaborative research, and data-driven innovation to help develop advanced materials and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on laboratory experiments to develop and evaluate materials and technologies, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Characterize materials using a range of analytical techniques to gain insights into structure-property relationships of the coating systems.

  • Collaborate with other teams and our external partner to deepen understanding and accelerate development.

  • Organize experimental data to extract meaningful insights that guide research direction.

  • Contribute to idea generation across multiple stages of development.

  • Communicate findings through concise written reports, presentations, and discussions with teams.

  • Participate in versatile project teams to guide innovation and achieve R&D goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.

  • Hands-on experience in laboratory work (e.g., wet chemistry, material synthesis, formulation, or characterization)

  • 3+ years of experience (internship, coursework, or undergraduate research) with a demonstrated interest in research related to polymers and coating formulations.

  • Experience conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting results.
