Under the general direction of Director, COHS/SOM Decision Support Services as a critical part of the DSS technical team, the incumbent works as functional leader, technical expert and supervisor in the DSS technical team. This incumbent is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining complex home-grown systems (DSS Home) with all programmer analysts, especially leads and supervises multiple web application programmers. As part of the Decision Support staff, this supervisor position will lead the area of DSS web toolboxes in our home-grown system, to enhance/modify existing and future DSS web applications and integrate with database programs and multiple servers in our DSS home-grown systems. This individual is expected to work with SOM Assistant Dean, SOM Dean's Office Directors, Financial Managers and Analysts, and the other COHS/SOM departmental CAOs and Analysts providing technical and non-technical assistance on all DSS systems and their local environments, as well as working closely with the IT teams in both UCI Campus and UCI Health periodically. Your Role on the Team Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides directions to staff according to established policies and management guidance. Administers policies that directly affect subordinate staff. Recommend changes to department policies and practices. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Provide priority setting and workflow analysis. Having wide-ranging experience, applies software concepts and objectives to projects, up to and including the most complex, with campus-wide / medical center, institution-wide and / or multi-institutional scope and little or no precedent. Directs the selection of tools, methods, techniques, technologies and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to campus / medical center and systemwide plans and objectives. Is considered a subject matter expert at the campus, medical center or Office of the President and may be recognized as an expert in the industry. What It Takes to be Successful Required:
